I am talking about my favorite actress of Bette Davis. I was on Facebook the other day and found out from one of my groups that way back in the 50's on her way to do a movie in Tennessee , there was a big snow storm and she and hubby got stuck in my home town of Portsmouth , Ohio. She was accommodated by our best hotel there and complained the whole time. Loudly yelling at the staff , waiters in the hotel restaurant , about the food she ordered. and in general was a beast the whole time till she got to leave the next morning. Very mad about just one reporter they allowed in to take her photo too.
Sad to find out she was such an awful person.
One of the posts here reminded me of that. talking about her being one of their favorites too. I just wonder if Judy Garland was the same, another fav. of mine
and if today's favorite Elizabeth Moss is like that. or on mans side James Spader. I love that man.
Who do you like and hope wins the awards this year? Any favorite movies? I still have got hopes of seeing 3 Billboards across Ebbing, Missouri and" The spy who dumped me" also. wish I could see them free. just have to keep waiting.
photo is from Dead Ringer DVD I bought of my favorite movie of Bette

at the end of the day we're reminded they're humans, too. they're under constant pressure because they have to present an image all the time wherever they are, whatever they're doing.
our actors, actresses, singers, newscasters, etc also speak out once in awhile when they're had enough bashing. i guess it's harder now with social media. anyone can take a picture of you and/or video you, not just the paparazzi.

the same back then. and still a lot of them were nice to the public and people around them. appreciating what they have. their fans etc. in fact they probably work harder today then they ever did back then to keep up.

you'd be amazed who gets arrogant when they get a little bit of notoriety..
a hotel i worked in once had john mc enroe as a guest.
you'd think with his reputation at the time,he'd be a pain, right?
nope.HIS WIFE WAS.
he was kind, and often said thank you.
tatum o' neill on the other hand, was a demanding, shrieking harpy.
i still can't stand her for that.

@bunnybon7 We love the movies and characters, but perhaps not the actors for what they are or do in real life.

had not read about it. Did she write a book like Crawfords daughter about her mom Joan did?

Famous people are humans too, which many seem to forget these days. But it is sad when someone you enjoy watching turns out to be a full on bad person.

yes and again i know we can't judge a person by how we think they are without seeing true works of care for others. plus i guess it shows just what a great actress she was by fooling people about how she was in real life

@Courtlynn she was mostly in old movies. but i think lots of stars have followed her acting ability and studied her. way before your time. Just by her eyes she could convey what the character was thinking.

well back then it did loose fans. mean nasty people were looked down on more it seems. these days it seems not to matter as much.
