Are you planning to watch Trump's State of the Union address?

It is on at 8 pm. Supposedly his theme is going to be "unity" and "bipartisanship" which is hysterical since he is the one dividing and agitating the country and saying that any budget negotiations between parties that don't involve the money that he wants for his stupid wall are a waste of time. I also read that he is apparently going to state that he is NOT going to declare a national emergency. Good idea, buddy, since if there was a true emergency you should have declared it a very long time ago. Needless to say, I won't be watching because I can't listen to Trump speak without wanting to puke. I am interested in seeing Stacey Abrams' response for the Democrats. I just have to find out what time she will be on so I know when to turn the TV on. Will you be watching the SOTU? Why or why not?

I will be watching parts of the SOTU. I don't know that I will watch the whole thing. I am more interested in Stacey Abrams' response as well. I saw a few minutes of the news today. People were of course talking about the SOTU and what Trump would say. A few people (I don't know who these were... they were guests on the shows) stated that it wouldn't be long after before Trump got on Twitter and destroyed whatever he had said in the SOTU.

exactly! He doesn't lie (much) when he is following a prepared script. It is when he speaks off-the-cuff at press gaggles, in interviews, and his insane MAGA rallies that he lies like every single minute.

@NJChicaa I will be watching MSNBC and maybe flipping between it and CNN. I think Brian Williams and Rachel Maddow are hosting the after remarks... I like to hear what she has to say. I don't remember when Stacy Abrams will be speaking on it.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I love Rachel Maddow though I've never watched her show. I've just seen clips of it and she is so knowledgeable and no-nonsense. She is just on too late for me.

We aren't going to be home tonight - but I suppose I won't be missing much . The man disgusts me - I really don't feel like listening to him either. I know I'll read up later on the highlights and the various headlines and opinions about it . . . yah, it'll be interesting to hear what Stacey Abrams says.

The last SOTU address I watched was the one in January 2002 in the aftermath of 9/11. If I wanna watch lies, you know what I’ll watch:

It's 9 PM over here. Not 8 PM I think. I'll be reading and hitting the mute button.

I don't blame you! I wouldn't even bother trying to stay up for the Democratic response if it started at 9.

Yes he is. Things are happening quickly these days with Mueller and SDNY. Pretty sure this will be his last SOTU
