It is a good thing I am not the district attorney of Harris County in Houston Texas having to decide whether to press charges on a mom who allegedly (innocent until proven guilty in a court of law) who claims she has a medical condition which forced her to go to a bathroom at a Fiesta supermarket on Sunday afternoon.
Her error in judgement was that she left her one year old son inside a SUV with the windows rolled up and the door was locked in a parking lot.
Thanks to Daniel Tamez who was the Good Samaritan who used a tire iron to break open the window to the SUV to rescue the child.
The Houston Police were summoned by the eyewitnesses to try to find the mom of the child.
When the police were finally able to contact the mom, she told them why she left her son inside the SUV due to a medical condition.
It is yet to be determined if the mom will face charges on her actions until the investigation is complete.
You make the call to determine if you were the district attorney what would you do in this case.
The Houston firefighters have determined that the boy is in good condition after his ordeal.

The mother has to account for her actions.

I agree with you since she has to learn that her child cannot survive being inside an auto that is locked and the windows closed.

I would have feared that the baby could have been hit with glass but I guess all turned out okay. I hope his mom learned a valuable lesson.

I am sure that the mom could have taken her child to the bathroom even though they are different genders since some stores have family bathrooms.

She couldn't take the kid to the bathroom with her? I mean, I have IBS and I can understand "when you gotta go, you gotta go," but it's a whole lot quicker to just take the child with you.

Children are very precious people for the moms. Many stores do have family bathrooms like Wal Mart does.

Simply do not understand why she did not take the child with her. I know that is what I would have done.

I know that a lot of stores allow moms and their children of the opposite gender inside the bathrooms.

It is shocking to learn that some moms use illness stories to leave their children inside locked autos.

If I were her take her child inside the bathroom. Most stores allow that to happen to have family bathrooms like Wal Mart.
