I'm sure you have heard some the scary stories told about what goes into our medications now days. Right? Well, think again. Gold and formaldehyde are the most understandable. But, those are the least bizarre. Some have such things as urine from a pregnant horse, pig pancreas and thyroid, and saliva from a Gila monster. Could non-fiction get any weirder? Read more about them here:

It is good to stay away from medicines until there is any serious issues.

And then when you have serious issues you could have other serious issues because of the medicines you've taken. The best thing is to eat right and exercise and get wellness checks on a regular basis so the serious issues stay away.

@MarshaMusselman That is right but many are happy to run for a doctor and medicine on small issues, Here comes all the problems. May be it is psychological thing and one has to be strong in mind to stay healthy without medicines. Our body itself do the necessary things to recover from illness.

Many of those are disgusting but some are more palatable if I can word it that way. My mom has a pig valve in her chest helping her heart work better, so using the pancreas and thyroids of pigs isn't such a grand leap in my opinion. Taking poop pills on the other hand is quite bizaare especially since it's to prevent the patient from pooping too much, diarrhea. The urine ones are also odd. I've heard of them before, but not the one where it comes from human females after menopause and several samples are mixed. I think I had the rooster's comb in my joints before and it didn't do any good for me. I did better with the cortisone. I wonder how expensive the injections of gold for rheumatoid arthritis are? I can't imagine gold in my joints and wouldn't go for that. And saying that reminded me of something else I read, but now I can't remember so...actually it was the one with formaldehyde. It sounds like the compound that is used turns into formaldehyde in the urine, it isn't that when it enters the body, or at least that's not what I understood.

@celticeagle There's not much else that can be any grosser than the ingredients of the meds listed here. Unless any of it ever tastes like the ingredients put into them. Sort of like the jelly belly brand that tastes like vomit and other body things. Yuck.
