Parental Pressure. Is it good or bad?

In course of my work I met this woman who has a son. The boy is writing his Madhyamik ( Secondary School Board Examinations). She tells me he got the first position among his classmates in the test examination. She wants him to repeat the achievement in the board examination. Good thing to have an ambition for the boy but some parents overdo it creating unnecessary pressure for their children. And if for any reason the child fails to do well in the public exam he /she falls into depression. In this state, news of students committing suicide is not uncommon. How is it in your part of the world? Do you think students should be let alone or parents must be after them to make them excel?

I think parents should be involved and supportive of their children without put undue pressure on them.

There should be a middle road somewhere. Pressuring kids too much is not a good idea.

Overdoing it will pressure your child and it’s not good to them, the kids need to enjoy at the same time learning and not being pressured :)

As a father of 3 think that parental pressure is good and necessary but has it limits, try to avoid perfection
