A very lovely song was written by Jimmie Davis and Charles Mitchell and recorded in 1939. The song was “You Are My Sunshine”. It was declared one of the state songs of Louisiana. It has been sung by many different artists. The 1940 version sung by Jimmie Davis was included in the National Recording Registry in the Library of Congress in 2013 for long-term preservation. However, the version I really like the best is the one sung by June Carter and Johnny Cash. Who remembers this song?

It's a good song. I didn't know it was a state song of Louisiana, and I was born there.
