I don't know how much the rest of the country is aware of this, but there is a huge vote-tampering scandal in the race for North Carolina's 9th Congressional District in the U.S. House.
When the votes were counted on election day, Republican Mark Harris was ahead of Democrat Dan McCready by about 900 votes. But those results were tainted by allegations that someone inside the Harris campaign collected, tampered with or even destroyed absentee ballots.
Yesterday, the new bipartisan state elections board has again refused to certify the results. Even Mark Harris himself has finally admitted that there should be a new election. So, for now the 9th Congressional District in North Carolina will have no representative.

The last I heard they are deciding on when to hold the vote again. Not my district.

@norcal WE really need to have a completely different voting system in the US. A big overhaul that won't allow for any kind of tampering. I am aware that's so much easier said than it is done.

@ScribbledAdNauseum It seems to me that electronic voting could be manipulated on a much wider scale even than the mail-in ballots, and it would bypass safeguards like ID checking.

@crazyhorseladycx He's been arguing that he should be seated ever since election night. It wasn't until it was revealed that he had been warned about the person who did the actual cheating, and chose to ignore it, that he finally caved.
