Chanting Helps!!

There was time when my mind was a total chaos, everything around me was falling apart and it was so difficult to hold my life in place. Something that helped me to sort and calm my mind was Buddhist mantra’s chanting. Every single day, my day begins with the chants and ends with the same. It just makes me feel happy and it has helped me to be a better person, more human. This has helped me to understand myself better, as Buddha said everything is within us, we have an ability to overcome any problem or difficulty. Our life possesses the power since we are one with the supreme. I would like to know various experiences and also what helped and how ?

For more than thirty years I chanted, what are called charged words, which create a sort of a vibrating harmoinic hum in our bodies. No doubt, it helped me greatly, at the time. Now though, I feel that something else is still missing from my life. So I asked myself, in this life here, does chanting words really help us, or not? My answer was that anything like this can bring peace to a troubled mind by detaching us from the grip of our mind. The idea is to drop into our heart, and to feel or connect to, the love there though, so we should not get so caught up in the chanting alone, so much so, that it keeps us in our body because of the good harmonic feel of just that. We should not become so attached to the chanting as I had become, that we lose the real aim of the chanting, which is merely a tool, leading us towards that aim.
