Feeling bad

We are all guilty of hurting ourselves just because we feel bad to tell someone that we do not like what they are doing. This scenario is a daily feature for many who suffer in silence. This is mostly seen when there are visitors. They will bring their phones and in the middle of a conversation get up and attend to their calls. I have a list where I put up with the behaviour of many. How tolerant are you?

I can "act" tolerant on the outside, but inside I may not be. I have a friend who cannot stop working . . . whenever we meet she has her laptop and phone . . . there are constant interruptions of our conversations because she must take those calls or do something "real quick" on her computer. The only reason why I tolerate it is because she has other really good qualities about her - but otherwise I would not tolerate this from anyone else.

I sometimes wonder whether we are doing the right thing by punishing ourselves.

None is better than another. Who doesn't have flaws that might annoy or offend someone else is the real question? Who deserves more acceptance than another? We are all people, all equal and we all deserve sympathy and understanding at times. We all do annoying things, we all get busy at times and we are all rude at one point or another.

Well said. But at times there is a limit how far one can go.

About phones I am not at all tolerant and my husband is like me. Our niece learnt very well to turn off her phone while we were eating together or having a conversation.

@allknowing Now she knows that if she wants to come here to have lunch or dinner with us, the telephone must not stay on the table. She is no more a kid, it's a matter of good manners.

It depends on the situation.

Unless we give hints about what displeases us it will go on and on

Usually, a lot. But it all depends on the situation.
