We love a nice massage to feel better the following morning, but...

Last night, just like what we always do from time to time, we got a nice massage from a spa. My husband and I always prefer to it in the evening so that we are done with our chores thus there is no need to wash our hands and so on.. Now, what i have noticed is that after an almost two-hour massage in the eve, we woke up the following morning as if someone has wrestled with us, we felt so languid and tired. I meant, we get some massage to feel better, but the opposite happens. There is only one spa that gives me such nice feeling in the morning. And just today, i told my husband that we would just stick to that spa. Do you also experience the same thing in the morning? Tired and languid?

I do think you are experiencing muscle soreness. Perhaps they administered deep kneading massage.

Yes they did. And both of us now are weak to the bone. Ww decided to stop going to spas. My husband came home very weak because of it.

@Janet357 I sometimes massage myself. I guess it is quite handy to be a licensed PT in our country.

I never had a massage. That's because I easily get bruised so I avoid massages. I think the one done to both of you was hard massage that is why you felt that way, the next day.

Your skin is very sensitive. Better off avoid them. It doesnt guarantee you a great feeling.

Better avoid massage. Or have it done by a family member.

Yes I experienced this. During the Customer Service Week at work. My manager invited employees from a certain massage spa to the office. I only had 15-minute back massage. The time was limited so I did not complain. I felt the pressure pressed in my back. After the massage I don't feel good. My shoulder felt as if something on it. I went to my go to spa, blind therapist, my therapist came to the rescue. I told him what happened. And he massaged the muscle that hurts. And the aching was gone.

I had one for a shoulder issue, so I'm sure it's not the same thing... mine was very relaxing...

The massager seems to have light hands. Or the pressure she used was light.

I used to go to my friends spa for a massage. they always ask you if the pressure is right before they start full on. I have never felt beat up after a massage.

I get lots of massages from certified therapists at spas. I usually fall asleep, but do try to stay awake so I don't miss the wonderful massages. My husband never falls asleep. No, we feel great once they are over, but they say you shouldn't drive immediately after one. That's why our spas let us sit and give us cucumber water or tea and nuts and fruit to eat afterwards. We usually stay in a spa which is part of an inn for 3-4 days.

@Janet357 All you should do is relax for 15 minutes, then the drive wouldn’t be a problem. Our favorite spa is about 45 minutes. We drive home the same day, too.

Oh now that’s the secret. Because after we got the massage, we left and drove home. A thirty-minute drive.
