If you need me I'll be in my blanket fort

I had every intention of being on mylot today, but nope. I'm in a mood. The kind of mood you get into after having to clean up a big mess. I was making potato candy and the bottom of the sugar bag decided it didn't need to keep the sugar in anymore. That was a mess to clean up. I'm just going to read and do other things. I'm only saying this because I may not be able to get back to everyone's notifications from this morning. I don't like people to think I'm ignoring them.

I love that you always respond back to your responses! Did you wind up being able to make the potato candy then?

@ScribbledAdNauseum awesome! I don't think I have made it yet but I have eaten it. A friend brought some she made to a get together I had a few years ago. Maybe I will make it for Easter.

@shaggin It would be a nice treat for easter as well. Out of curiosity, I looked to see if you people on etsy were selling this. They were, but they mad theirs look much more stylish. I've seen recipes with pictures for it and they always look like a pinwheel. That isn't how I roll mine, but then it's not the appearance but the taste that matters the most.

I absolutely try to respond back, but I do think I miss some sometimes. Yes, I made it and took it to my cousin on Friday. She has eaten a lot of it already. I told my aunt "she better appreciate this! I poured half the sugar in the stove burner!"

It's the next day. I am fine today, not as aggravated at the situation.

@Nevena83 Yes, now I am just watching a Japanese man cook. It's interesting to watch.

I definitely did. I read for a bit but not the entire time. Even so.. I feel better. I was just in a crabby mood after having to nearly take the stove apart to clean the mess.

@snowy22315 Yes, of which I am glad. Now I can enjoy the fruits of my labor (the part of the batch that I kept for us) and just forget about it.

So you didn't really build a blanket fort? I'm so disappointed! haha One of my favorite things to do with my kids when they were little was to build blanket forts! There were many weekend nights were we actually slept in the blanket forts we built. Such good times!

@moffittjc Blanket Forts are definitely a good way to get away from the every day.

When I was little, my mom would take two fans and tie blankets to them, turn the fans on and throw blankets inside for us. That way we could snuggle under the blankets and read, or listen to the television. Only did that in the summer though. My sister and I had bunk beds, I used to take the mattress off of my bed (bottom bunk) and place it in the opening of the bed so that I had my own little world. We had the beds against a window and so I could see outside and had plenty of light. I have no kids, but I did do the blanket fort thing with the niece and nephew when they were younger.

@ScribbledAdNauseum My kids are grown now (well, teens), but I would totally still build a blanket fort if they ever wanted to do it for old time's sake! I love blanket forts. I can't wait to someday build them with my grandchildren!

Definitely understand, I have been in that sort of mood lately too. That's great that you are letting us know though :)

Yes, I know there' s a good chance I won't be able to get to all of my notifications from today. When I shut down my laptop those will all be lost. I can bring them back up but they won't be easy to sort through, atleast for me. Which is why I wanted everyone to know, I may not be able to get back to everyone.

@MommyOfEli2013 They are there but they don't have the "count" thing. I mean, I usually can comment or respond to something then delete the notification and it takes down from 20 left to 19 left, for instance. Makes it more difficult for me.

@ScribbledAdNauseum They've never been lost for me...so sorry to hear that....and that they won't be easy to sort through! But I understand for sure...and sometimes a break is needed!

I am much better. I was just so frustrated with it. I am clumsy but this wasn't even my own fault. I was upset because I was taking extra precaution to make sure I didn't get sugar everywhere. Isn't that how it goes?

@SophiaMorros Yes and it says it's snowing outside too! I looked out and it certainly isn't, atleast not in my area. I know everyone else wants it to be spring, but I wouldn't mine one last big snow.

I don't get on here every day. Sometimes I forget. Sometimes I have other priorities. I'm supposed to be working on a short story but not really sure I want to do it. I sure have lost motivation to write.

I have lost motivation as well. I know I do a lot of writing based on my dreams, but I have this story in my head that I wanted to start writing. I just haven't done it. Procrastination and writer's block are just awful, aren't they?

My sister boiled tea over on the stove today. She was on the phone with me when it happened and she literally cussed her own self out.

I used the vacuum actually. I had to open the stove and clean underneath it again (I only just did it two weeks ago) Potato candy is... You take one small potato and boil it. Then you add confectioner's sugar (one lb) and creamed butter (a stick of or 3/4 cup) and mash that together until it makes a dough. You roll that out and then slather peanut butter on it. roll it, slice and chill.

I am back-ish. I just wanted to comment back to people on this discussion. I am way behind on notifications and I am sure I will not be able to keep up with them all. I will do my best though. I don't like for people to think I've ignored them.

I am done, now I have a busy morning trying to get back to every single notification that has built up. I have no way to track them as I turn off my laptop every night.
