So I was checking out this relatively new world atlas and was seeing what it has for New Zealand - a country I like and would love to visit sometime. Two interesting facts that I was not aware: 1.Auckland is the largest city of New Zealand (I used to think it was Wellington ) 2.New Zealand was the first democratic country in the world to give voting rights to women! Now that is some information! Also checked here
On 19 September 1893 the governor, Lord Glasgow, signed a new Electoral Act into law. As a result of this landmark legislation, New Zealand became the first self-governing country in the world in which all women had the right to vote in parliamentary elect

I will have to go searching for Maori's culture, to see if it had something to do with women's right to vote there.

I haven't been to New Zealand yet. It must be a fascinating place. That's a nice record to have - being first to give women the vote.

@JudyEv may be you can plan your next overseas visit to New Zealand? I think flight connectivity to Auckland and Wellington would be good from Australia?
