The forecast for this weekend got lost, but spring might show up one day and then hide again.

Originally we were supposed to get temp in the forties tomorrow and into the fifties in Sunday followed by snow or ice on Monday. Now, tomorrow will still be in the thirties and and only the forties. Next week will have, (if it doesn't change by then), temps mostlybetween the mid to high thirties to the low forties and at night in the teens. On Wednesday it may snow and on Thursday we may get a high of 64. Fancy that. But I'm sure that won't stay. In fact the next day it may go back into the low forties again. Hopefully all of our ice will finally melt, so we can take out the trash without worrying about anyone falling and getting hurt. Maybe the rest of your will remain snow and blizzard free for another week. **** My will flower garden from two years ago. I doubt I have any flowers yet since it's still been cold.

The temperature stays up 34 F even during the night. We are having sunny days until the mid week next week.

@MarshaMusselman The past two night the lowest has been 39 F and it seems it's going to be the same during all the week. A light frost occurs during the night at 32 F. A hard freeze is a period of at least 4 days at 25 F.

@LadyDuck Well at least it's not even getting close to the freezing mark there in the night, so that's good. We've had a hard frost in one days/nights time before and later in the season too.

Have your nighttime temps gotten down to 34 ish much this past month, Anna? I'd think that was too close to freezing. Although, I don't really know at what temp a hard frost happens, maybe it's a lot lower than the normal freezing temps of 32? I'm still hoping, with you, that it doesn't get that low so your vegetation stays safe there.

Love your garden and happy to hear its an old photo....I would be jealous if you just took that photo. We are still covered in snow and its damn cold outside. I am looking forward to seeing all that white stuff just disappear.

@PainsOnSlate everywhere we still had ice in the driveway and sidewalks is now partially melted but also slick because of the added rain. I was going to do a before and after pics from yesterday to today but it's hard to see the difference from inside the house. Things are melting some but it's mostly the snow. I'm including a pic the one it's across the street the red car is in our driveway.

It was 58° Thursday and 62° yesterday but this morning there are very light snow flurries. I am hoping it warms up. If it is beautiful here like it was yesterday I want to take my dog for a long walk down the portion of the rail trail I left off on last year.

@shaggin I don't remember, but I don't think we got any snow last week unless that was when we got a light dusting. We are getting some snow either tonight or tomorrow and maybe 1-3 inches beginning with a wintry mix meaning rain turning into snow. So, possibly more ice too. I hope not, but at least I now have salt. Even if we do get the three inches at least most of the rest of the snow in our yards is now melted and this won't stick around very long I'm sure. We always get one more big storm in April. Because it as so awful in February, I'm hoping this is one year that no snow shows up in april, but we won't know that until the month is over.

We had a little dusting of snow again last night, but I'm sure it will all be gone again since it's back into the lower forties today.

It's funny how Spring is trying to make an entrance, but Winter doesn't want to let go yet. The two are fighting back and forth right now for control of our weather. Ultimately, we know Spring will be victorious, but Winter is not going down without a fight!

@MarshaMusselman For us down here in Florida, we essentially didn't even really get a winter this year. I guess that is going to be the new norm with global warming. We had a few cold fronts come through, but it would only stay cold for a day or two and then get warm again.

@moffittjc It may be the new normal, but that does tend to change too every few years, so hopefully next year our winter will be more normal than the one that's ending. I'd take more snow any day over all the ice that's stayed put for a month.

I don't remember the right being this vigorous in previous years. This is the first year we've had so much ongoing ice along with the sun zero weather the first week of Feb along with a colder March. Although this next week it'll be a bit warmer but I'm hoping we won't get flooding from snow melting too quickly.

Our forecast has changed slightly in the past 24 hours. We're getting rain/snow mix starting around 4 today and ending around 9 tomorrow morning. Temps today and tomorrow 36. We're getting up to 43 around mid-week next week. Everything subject to change.

So far, other than some snow coming in tomorrow night, possibly, the forecast is staying what I put here. I'm sure things will change by the weekend but that remains to be seen.

@MarshaMusselman Our temps are going up to the mid-50s by Thursday. In the 40s today. We're also getting rain, so the snow will melt and we'll have flooding.

@just4him Yeah, the flooding is the part that I don't like because when it gets cold again we'll have even more ice. So far, though, the melting seems to be staying nearer the grass than I expected. I thought the snow piles would melt back into the driveway and I'd be back where I started when I fell. I went out today and shoveled the remains of the larger pieces of ice off the driveway, for the most part and I even worked on a little bit of sidewalk. But that was also covered in water, and I didn't want to slip from not being able to clearly tell where the ice was, so I only did what I could reach from dry pavement.

@nela13 that's Celsius right? We had a week of -25 degrees in f, which is about -33 for you. That was the coldest, but below zero f it's quite common for us here. How did you make there little circle next to your numbers for the degrees?

@Mavic123456 Thanks. You don't have to keep making these for me. I will be getting some family photos done soon and I intend to use one of them after I crop it for my port photo. Until then, I may use this one. Actually, maybe I'll use it for a while or see if I can figure out how to include the words to my picture later on. I wonder whether the members that use the generic green mylot avatar would know how to get these onto their own computer so they could have a personalized image if they don't want to use their own face.

I like the warmer aspects of it and it's not unusual for it to snow in March and even April before spring finally stays around. But, we've had enough of the ice And I'd rather that stay away for years to come, at least the ice that's in driveways and yards and sidewalks.

Lovely flowers. Our temps here in Florida finally rose in the glorious 70s so I am up and out for some time tomorrow to catch those sun rays. It was cold here last week. Sure hope all that winter melts away for you and spring comes blowing in.

I'm sure spring won't stay yet for long but if the temps would at least get into the forties more often that would be nice. And it's the ice melts that would be better yet. I don't ever remember having this much ice for this many weeks.

@MarshaMusselman for a number of weeks during the worst winters back in Latvia that was all we had plenty of ice and a bit of snow and I would practically have to crawl off my street to get to the main street to get to the store so I am now glad where I am.

It's finally melting here. We usually get a January thaw but it hadn't snowed much when we got it then. I was a bit worried that when the current snow would melt it would run back into the driveway and then freeze at night. But I went outside today and was able to shovel off large prices of ice and I feel much better about it now Two weeks ago I fell on ice and I've been staying inside as much as possible since then.

WHich ones are the cornflowers? The white ones or the colored ones? I've no idea what most of these were and I'm hoping they come up again this year. I didn't do so well last year as I think I weeded out some of the actual flowers accidentally leaving some weeds. That's the only thing with planting wildflowers if you don't know the flowers from the weeds. But they are pretty.

@responsiveme I like verbena and tend to buy them in a hanging basket so I can enjoy them up close. If I get any this year I'll take some photos and also of any wildflowers that happen to come up. I have more seed to get down if I ever get the time needed to completely weed the area where these wildflowers were planted. I bought some black plastic made to put under the plants to eliminate weeds as much as possible, but the guy that was going to work on it for me isn't communicating with me at present. It could be because his internet isn't reliable, or because he's not good with informing me of his plans. I was a bit miffed with him recently and I'm not sure whether he's figured that out or not or whether he still wants to work or not. But, there's a lot to be done if I don't want to have to pull out tall grass weeds each and every year. Maybe I'll be able to work on it some this summer when I'm off from getting my knee replaced. Or, I may not want to walk on the uneven ground right away either. You can see all the extra grass growing right with the flowers.

@MarshaMusselman the pink and purple ones...At least we call them that here. The clustered white ones look like verbena but I could not be sure from the photo. In any case all look so pretty.
