ok so another update on my dad. Still angry at this nurse.

If you read my previous post about my dad, then my update now will make sense to you. But if you haven't seen it, I will just copy and paste a little bit of what I said so you don't need to go find it yourself. "Dad sees a company called "Silver Chain." Where nurses can come out to you or you go see them depending what is wrong. This nurse (by the way my dad doesn't always see the same nurse every time)....put something on my dad's foot that should NOT have been on there. I don't know the medical term but it's this type of tape that shouldn't go on a diabetic's skin because it can make the skin deteriorate." ^^^^My dad got told by a nurse that he had the wrong tape on his foot and that the progress of his foot would go backwards and that made him stress out. He was worried all night last night thinking he would be told something negative at his next appointment. My dad saw someone today who is from Wound Care. My dad told her that his foot was wrapped with the wrong tape and she looked at him weird and said "Who told you that?" My dad explained that the last nurse he saw told him. She sighed and shook her head and told him that everything is ok! Because this tape had been used on his foot for the entire time he was in hospital. So basically why I'm still angry is because this nurse told my dad that he had the wrong tape on and that it would make his progress go backwards. But he got told today that there was no need to worry. This nurse who told my dad a few days ago was wrong. Which is good! Because we don't want his foot to go backwards but she was wrong to tell him something like that and make him worry like that. She was still incorrect about the tape anyway. This nurse from Wound Card had a big smile on her face when she saw my dad's foot. She said that it is looking much better! Whew! So far, so good.

@Mavic123456 Yeah Silver Chain wrote her up for the mistake but I don't know what happens after that.

So worrying over nothing. The question I asked in the last post now applies to this one : what kind of nurse is she? smh!

Just try to relax, the nurse was horrible, but at least you know that your Dad is improving.

Glad his foot is improving but I think what you have experienced is fairly common here in the UK. My mother-in-law is constantly being told that her medication is either exactly what she needs, is useless or is bad for her depending on which doctor she sees!! Basically you have to become a bit of a detective and do your own research.

@VivaLaDani13 If I'm feeling generous I put it down to overwork. I suspect in a lot of cases though it's plain old fashioned incompetence. Like I say, you need to be well-informed when dealing with medical people. Quite often they aren't aware of recent developments so it pays to do some research.

@WorDazza That is just awful! I'm sorry your mother in law has to deal with all that! I hear things like this often and it's just ridiculous.

@VivaLaDani13 So do you believe what tghe Wound Card nurse said? I wonder why people like to play games with patients and tell them one thing and then tell another. That is just wrong.

@Hannihar I believe his Wound Care because she is way more experienced. And I don't know. Sometimes I really think some nurses and doctors need more training before dealing with real patients.

@VivaLaDani13 I dealt with doctors that are very rude and nurses too.You are right there are many that really need a lesson in how to treat all patients with respect. I think whoever told him one thing to scare him and you was very wrong. I will never understand why people do that and do not think. She did not think before she spoke and then finding out something else would make me wonder who is telling the truth and why they do not think of the patient before they speak.

So glad your dad's foot is improving! I know the other nurse was wrong for making him worry for no reason, but try if you can to stay positive and focus on being happy & grateful for the improvement. =)
