I have a timeshare in Aruba

Around 25 years ago, I bought a timeshare in Aruba. A friend of mine invited us to Aruba (then an unknown entity for me) for a week. She had a timeshare there. My husband had then the illness that later caused his death. I was worried about his looks, how thin he was and how he had ages in a few months. But in Aruba he bloomed. He played with giant (caged) parakeets trying to copy their voice, he walked by the beautiful Eagle Beach, he even had fun watching me lose some coins at the casinos. Before going away, I went to the Administration and said I wanted to buy a timeshare. They told me that they had to show me everything first and it took me some time to tell them that knew all there was to know and that I would miss my plane if I stayed with them. We went to several places before my husband died and the timeshare can be traded. And we also went back to our own special paradise. This year I will go with my best friends and last year I went with Claudia and her family. Do you have a timeshare?

My husband and I were bombarded with timeshare offers when we visited the Spanish island of Tenerife. But we found that this was not for us. We had to visit his family in Italy occasionally and wouldn't have had enough holidays to use the timeshare apartment. It would also have been very expensive to get to Tenerife as I could only go during school holidays and the prices for flights always shoot up at the beginning of holidays.

We had the possibility of trading our week and we went to several places at a very reasonable price.

@MALUSE Again the same. We were bombarded with timeshare offers in Sint Maarten and Aruba and we decided it was not something we wanted.

@LadyDuck Sometimes those people that sell the timeshares cause the exact opposite result. I bought the timeshare in spite of the people selling them. My husband was very ill when we went to Aruba for the first time and in a week his face changed

I never thought about it until we went to Aruba when my husband was already ill. As I watched his face change during that week, I felt that I was buying health.

@LadyDuck I haven´t seen a mosquito in Aruba. I have heard that in other islands they have them. A couple of my friends hate beaches too. There´s no way I could take them to Aruba

@marguicha My husband wanted to buy a house in the Caribbean, not in Aruba, but in Sint Maarten, or in the Bahamas. We visited many Island, I am not a "beach girl", I get sick from the too hot sun and I have a serious problem with mosquitoes. We finally abandoned the idea and I am very glad we did.

No, they are hard to resell. I would like to get to Aruba sometime. My parents went and loved it.

No, I don't have. Timeshare is in my country a 'fraud of the century'

@LowRiderX I bought a week in Aruba. I can exchange it to go elsewhere by paying less than $200 more. I have gone with it to Mexico, Argentina, Spain and the US
