Diary Wednesday 13th March 2019
A very busy day today.
It began with an event I always dread, signing on, the monthly meeting with my welfare officer to discuss my job searching activity. If they don’t like what I have done they can arbitrarily indiscriminately cut or quash my welfare payments complexly.
My usual advisor I generally nice and easy to talk with but a her computer was down I was temporarily transferred to another lady to be questioned by. Though impressed by how much job searching I do, she was concerned that I hadn’t yet added the most recent job interview I had attended, only the day before. She made notes on her pad about it but I have no idea what she wrote, which worries me. She gave no indication of intent to have me penalized though. I have heard of welfare claimants being penalized without being notified of it in advance. I’ll be very nervous now until my welfare is paid at the end of the month. I expect I’ll be OK though.
I called to the library, and added in the job interview she disputed, just in case the subject arises again. I have e-mail proof the interview took place, though I doubt I will get the job.
From the library I went to the university book club meeting, picking up the next title to be covered, which I’ll review once I’ve read it.
The next event I was attending was a free talk on Russian author Dostoyevsky, given by the very interesting Professor George Pattison, discussing atheism in the works of the literary giant. He concluded that while characters in most Dostoyevsky stories agonize over whether God exists or not, the writer never shows whether or not their faith is rewarded or penalized. He sees their lives and personalities driven by their faith or its absence. His emphasis is on this life, never any kind of life after death.
Diary Thursday 14th March 2019
A routine job club job searching day but the biggest events were indications from two potential reviewers that they might be covering and reviewing my pending book. One, a radio presenter, is coming to my flat to interview me for his show on Wednesday.

Excellent about the interview with the radio presenter. Make sure you publicize your book everywhere you can..Have you started a FB page for it?

@LadyDuck that's right, thanks - they won't worry that I went for the interview, just that I failed to log it well enough for their satisfaction. I expect they won't pursue it but such behaviour is not unknown.
