While the songs that were album cuts or obscure songs are all over the place, there are songs most people probably had pegged the instant they saw this theme pop up. I'm sure this is one of them. I would hate to disappoint, because that would make your brown eyes blue. Here's the next hit with "eye" in the title. #7: Brown-Eyed Girl - Van Morrison Hey, I have brown eyes, so how could I leave this one off?????? One of the classics from Van the Man, and a song that suffered from censorship. I know these things sound funny now, in the days of Grammy nominations given to songs with the "F" word in the title, but "back then" the line "Makin' love in the green grass" was edited out of the single version (replaced with the earlier line, "laughin' and runnin'"). There were people with nothing better to do who claimed the "my, how you have grown" was a reference to the brown-eyed girl being pregnant. Oh, well. It's a great song, period, and it's maintained that for over 50 years now.
