2019 Health Journey -- Day 79 (March 20th)

Hello everyone, hope you've all had a good day. Mine has been okay. My fasting sugar was 138. Not the best, but not awful. My husband and I decided to go out for a late breakfast/early lunch at Arby's. I had a chicken cordon bleu sandwich....and just had a few of my husband's fries rather than ordering my own and overdoing it. I didn't check my blood sugar two hours after, like I am supposed to...but before dinner I checked it and it was down to 78. The next meal was at my grandparents. My grandfather cooked some fried potatoes and fish that he caught. I had a few of the potatoes again...and some fish. I didn't check my sugar after that. Tonight I didn't want a meal....just something sweet, so had a candy bar. Kept it for a treat sometime, or if I had a low blood sugar. --Treat it was. Of course, I did not track again... How did you all do today? Eat anything good (and/or healthy)?

@MommyOfEli2013 Thank you! I keep falling out of it so I really need to do better with eating right and exercising more. I hope your sugar is better now. Just keep trying until you get it, and fight the urge. Are there healthier snacks that you enjoy? Like I love the freeze dried apple slices from the store, I wanna start getting them as an alternative to some of the junk I eat.

That's life sometimes! But hope you are doing good too :) And thank you....my sugar is coming down from the damage done yesterday, lol. I just need to learn to stop cheating!

@tammys85 I am sorry that you keep falling out of it too! Hopefully you can do better with it too, if that is what you want to do :) My sugars are not better because I am not on track....life has just been so stressful lately. I could make my own sugar free chocolates to grab when I want a snack/candy. I should make a huge batch over the weekend and put it in the freezer. Freeze dries apple slices are good, and much better than some other snacks :) Sounds like a good plan :)

Doesn’t sound to bad! I had a mini quesadilla, and hamburger no bun, and Salad last night, have a bit of a cold so wasn’t super hungry!

Definitely should have not cheated, but it is what it is, lol. Sounds like you ate good though :)

Fast and fried food won't help your carb or bs intake, but it sounds like you ate good. I ate healthy - eggs, potato, and a couple of bananas.

I do know that kind of food does not help, but it is what it is. I just have to try to do better the next thing....this is a lifestyle change, not just a diet. That's good that you ate healthy though. I'm glad :) I need to start incorporating more eggs into my diet.
