Today I am feeling relaxed.
Holi - the festival of colours - was celebrated on Friday, 21st of March, but the hangover persisted. So I and my friends celebrated it on Saturday as well.We poured coloured water on each other, smeared coloured powder ( gulal ) on each other's face, led each other forcibly to a tub filled with coloured water, played pranks, sang, danced and did everything to enjoy the festival to the fullest.
By night I was completely exhausted. So last night I had a sound, deep sleep.
Today is Sunday.I am feeling relaxed.
The festival is over and from tomorrow it is back to business again.

We had it on Thursday but after all cooking, eating and celebration we were really tired and it took me two days of rest to get rid of that tiredness.

@arunima25 We celebrated the festival on Friday, the first day after the full moon night. I have noticed that if you have got drenched in colours and "gulal "is poured on your head, you begin feeling sleepy after some time.Till yesterday I was so tired that I even did not take my dinner.

@arunima25 That's exactly what happens in my family. My sisters, mother and "bhabhi' don't play colours. They just apply a tilak with "gulal" on each other's for head. I put a pinch of "gulal" on my parents' and bhabhi's feet, they in turn bless me and that's all.Women in my family, too, remain busy in preparing dishes. The actual Holi is enjoyed by me and my friends outside home.

I have seen pictures from Holi celebrations and it looked like people were really enjoying themselves. It is interesting to read about the local celebrations from other parts of the world.

@Shivram59 I would love to see that. I have never been to India, but it has always been one of the countries on my travel wish list. Maybe one day
One of friends from India once sent me a beautiful card for Diwali. We don't celebrate Diwali in country, but he wanted me to have the card anyway.

Many people don't celebrate Holi. And Holi is the only festival I enjoy the most. This year Holikadahan was on 20th and the next day we "played" Holi .It is another matter that we - me and my friends - enjoyed it on 22nd as well.

I hope the celebration went well. So it's now back to reality the hustle and bustle of daily routine.

@florelway Yes,the festival is over and now the same struggle will continue for a full year.Festivals provide us with a respite in which we restore our energy to meet tough challenges.
