For those who have no clue about the songs on the obscure side I present ten hits that have “eyes” in the title. Today’s song is one of those that you can probably turn on FM rock radio and hear today, just in case you’ve never heard it (or haven’t heard it in 20 minutes). Here’s today’s iconic “eye” song.
#2: Suite: Judy Blue Eyes - Crosby, Stills, and Nash
I don’t want to insult the intelligence of my readers, but on the other hand I occasionally tend to forget that not everyone learned to read from album liner notes, and consequently won’t know all the things I take for granted as “common knowledge.” So, in case you didn’t know.....
This song is about Judy Collins. Stephen Stills wrote this when they were breaking up.
Now, something I didn’t know about it: according to Picky Wedia, Stills wrote it in “inverted order,” with the breakup in the beginning (“It’s getting to the point where I’m no fun anymore, I am sorry”) and the love (“change my life, make it right, be my lady”) at the end!
Oh, and that great bass line at the beginning? Stills played that.

Dammit, did not want to even like this but you know I am kidding. Great bass lines are cool but like lyrics better my opinion of course. I am a lyrical buff.

A lot of the songs that get played a lot are great songs. I used to hear a lot of classic rock on the radio where I worked, but I don't work there anymore, so I am less sick of these great old songs. I loved this one back in the day. Those guys had beautiful voices, that blended together so well.
