Film vs Digital Camera

Which do you prefer?
The quality of digital cameras has improved, but honestly, they are just now at the level where they are equal to a film camera.
That said, of course, it is harder to buy and process film now than it was 10 years ago.
I am curious if anyone is still using a film camera?

I am not much into taking pictures now. It seems that everyone around me takes a little too many.

I think that is an interesting problem. My father from 1956 to around 2011 took around 38,000 pictures. Starting for me in roughly 1972 I am over 100,000 pictures. My daughter, who started taking pictures in around 2008 is over 60,000 already.

@DocAndersen The question is, do you look at yours? Does she looks at hers?

@marguicha very much so, I would say I share (and look at) between 140 and 160 pictures every single week!

Film is expensive, there are very few shops that develpe them now and it takes very long to see your pictures wheras digital can easily be deleted if you don't want to print it.

It wasn't until the current DSLR's that they were even comparable. But to get film like ability in a digital you are spend 2 or 3 thousand

I have a nice digital fugi camera and love it but have to charge the batteries when want to use it. It is hard to carry it with me so use my Smart phone camera.

I prefer digital and have phone with the best digital camera I could afford at the time. But I don't consider myself a photographer.

I am in the same boat. My daughter is really good, so I let her shoot pictures now!
