Time to poke my eyes out! That's right, it's the last song on my list of favorite songs with "eye" in the title. I broke this down into two sections (because there are so many "eye" songs out there): hits and not hits. This one was a hit, a big one, and it's also my favorite on the list. Here it is.
#1: In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel
"Rosanna," schmozanna. This was written about Rosanna Arquette. The Toto song? No. They just never wanted to put the kibosh on a good story.
It could've been written about Cliff (Charley Weaver for you old folks) for all I care as long as it came out like this. This is one of Peter Gabriel's greatest songs, and one I can listen to repeatedly.
Thanks for reading.

I can honestly say that I am not a Peter Gabriel fan for a lot of reasons.

That's okay with me. There's enough out there for everyone to love...and hate. Thanks for stopping by anyway!

Thank you. Where one ends, another begins. I'm getting ready for my big pancreas countdown!

You stated all there needs to be said about this tune. Hard to believe it also belonged to the new wave/alternative world at the time.

I’m thinking things like “Shock the Monkey” and “Games Without Frontiers” helped his status there.

What a great song! Jim Kerr (from Simple Minds) provided backing vocals. Gabriel combined various real and electronic instruments to create the song. "So" I would have to say you picked an excellent song and "eye" agree it is #1 worthy
