@db20747 , Well, we can at least, put them in a recycle bin and maybe that way they will reach someplace, not a landfill, where the plastic actually can be recycled. From the Atlantic, this article is worth reading.

@db20747 I never found jeans comfortable, I prefer lighter pants if I have to wear pants.

Haven't bought jeans in years here either!! They are high maintenance!! My light weight pants are easier to wash and they stay looking new for a long time!!!

All those plastic fibers that our clothing is made from nowadays is not good for our skin, and it's not good for the environment. I read a report somewhere recently that said the major source of microscopic plastic particles in our oceans, rivers and streams is not from the plastic bottles we discard, but from our synthetic clothing. Every time we do laundry, microscopic plastic fibers are washed out of our clothes and sent down the drain. We don't realize it's happening because the fibers are too small to see. Honestly, we need to go back to making our clothing out of cotton and wool like in the olden days.

That is a good point!! This is another side effect of the solution!! Recycling the plastic to make new bottles is a solution??!! Or maybe stop using all these plastic bottles??!!

@db20747 I'm with you on this one! We need to stop using plastic bottles, plastic bags, plastic straws, and plastic in general. Go back to the good old days when things were made out of glass and paper and more sustainable materials.

Nah. ny husband is an original-pure-cotton-Levis man. He has influenced me. Pants made from recycled plastic looks like a new idea to me.

I guess that is more creative than paving a highway. Also, I wonder if that would be a fashion statement. I will check out the latest in fashion to find out if such a thing is trendy.
