Do you like DIY / myLot

Do you like DIY and doing your own home improvements or do you prefer to pay someone else to do the big jobs like painting and decorating and gardening. I do all my own. I find it very tiring at times but satisfying, The inly things I cant do is anything involving ladders, electrical or plumbing.

I like it but also like having kids who can do things for me. Like my grandson has some computer know how.

Yes it is great to have someone in the family with a skill or trade. My son in law is a mechanic and I have a mechanically perfect car now all the time and my brother is an IT specialist so my laptop runs well. I need an electrician, a hairdresser and a plumber in the family bit Ive no more children to partner off so Ill have to wait and see if my grandchildren oblige

You can save a lot of money doing it on your own; but at times we need some professionals to do other delicate and tiring works.

Yes I would never tackle anything I don't know about that could cause harm like electric or plumbing.

My husband is very handy and has done in the past and still does most of the home improvements himself.

You are lucky you have a handy husband. Mine is hopeless. Id have to go around and fix what hed done and its easier to just do it myself. hes good in some ways but DIY is not one of them

I have recently taken on a project house on my own so have spent the last year changing kitchen, heating and having a go and skimming my own ceilings. Feel like I have bitten off more than I can chew at times though. Keep looking back at my progress photos to keep me going.

I'm a DIY guy, I never stop looking for things to do in the house, actually it's me and my wife. We do stuff whenever we can but won't hesitate to pay or hire if it's beyond our ability and capability.

I'm like you, do pretty much all my self except electrical and plumbing. Electrical stuff scares me, don't want to mess with it.
