Packing for a few days is hard to do...

Oh it's not the toiletries. Those are easy enough to remember. Even the phone charger can be remembered if one places it at the top of a list. Clothes? Plenty of underthings? All easilhy remedied if you have access to a washer, which I will. Of course I'll pack enough anyway, I always do. My laptop will be going with me this time, I'll have to figure out how best to pack that. No, you see, it's not that those things that make packing hard. Oh, I will have to remember to get the food out of the freezer that I am taking with me, but even that will be easy to remember. It's the books! I have to start today (Saturday) deciding which I'll take with me and I'm not leaving until Wednesday! I may go to the thrift store and grab a few more as well, just so I have plenty of variety! I know books aren't a packing essential for some, but for a reader like me, it certainly is. I can only watch so much t.v. before getting bored. What's the hardest thing for you to pack when going on a short trip? It could be because you always forget it, because it's just awkward to pack, or well, any reason.

I don't really find packing hard but I'm always afraid I will forget something really important. So far that hasn't happened but I do worry about it.

I make a list and put the important things up top or else underline them. Before I leave, I check the list and make sure I have everything. Before I leave wherever I've been, I do the same. This next week I am only going a half an hour down the road...

@ScribbledAdNauseum that's a good system. It's good that you aren't going that far.

@simone10 Yes, this is just a pet-sitting thing. In the fall the plan is to go to Tennessee, I'll have to be doubly sure I have everything then. Tennessee is four hours away.

I make lists well in advance. Either mentally or physically, or both. I'm just going thirty minutes down the road next week to dog sit, but I'll be at their house all day for atleast four days. Our get away trip isn't until the fall. Plenty of time, but I still like to have what's what planned well in advance.

Sometimes, it can be tricky to pack. It can be hard to know exactly what you'll need and such. I do have a difficult time sometimes.

I am making the list of things I am bringing as I type this. I almost forgot my perfume and lotion. I will probably obsess over it until I am at their house and then it won't matter what I've forgotten. Atleast I'll be somewher that I can do laundry.

All the things that hubby doesn't seem to worry about... drives me crazy! He can go a week with one tiny bag!!

I always have too much, but I'd rather have that than to have too little! It would drive me crazy to travel with someone who can get by with a tiny bag full of things.

I always make a list and still forget something.

I do not want to forget anything so I start my list days in advance. Like right now, I haven't written anything down but I have a mental list. I'd rather write a lot of stuff down and cross out things I don't need, then to not write anything down and end up forgetting something.

I always start making a list before hand and even if I forget something, as soon as I remember I add it to the list. So basically I have everything in the list and I take just one day to pack.

I do my packing almost all last minute. I make the list days in advance so that I can add to it if necessary.

I always had trouble packing books too but then I got a Kindle and bring that with me. Saves the trouble of choosing books since I have a good variety on hand. Plus it doesn't take up a lot of space.

This is a "no kindle" year for me. Plus my kindle doesn't work. I do have the kindle app on my laptop and I am bringing that with me... But I work on my laptop, so using the kindle app is a distraction.

I find it hard to pack clothes. I want to pack light, but I need options. And then shoes. Hubby packs the same no matter the season/weather. His way had him needing to shop sometimes

I'd rather have my clothes stuff prepared, it's an added expense to buy clothes, unless it's something you've budgeted for.
