This is EXACTLY what I needed to hear...

There has been a lot going on with my mother, my siblings, even my husband and to some extent my kids. My husband said I'm worrying for nothing (though he was only referring to one issue). There is a page on Facebook called "Today, God Wants You To Know..." This was my message today. Today, Patricia, God wants you to know that today you should take a vacation from worries. Take this moment to conjure up a fond memory. A time in your life when you were content and happy. Dwell on that moment for a while, let those feelings of contentment permeate your soul. Today is a good day to be content, so take a vacation from your worries. Now THAT's what I really needed. Time to shut off my brain.

For many years I took 30 minutes in the evening just for me and soaked in a hot bath. That was my time and no stress allowed. Then I would write down my worries and put in a box to pull out in the mornings. I stopped doing that when I moved up here. I have no idea why. I need to start again.

I journal. But I felt the need to talk to someone about the issue with my sister and her constant changing of who gets what of my mother's (parents' house). I did not get any emotional support here at home.

Glad you have an exciting life and family who makes your world worrisome, Actually, worrying is all to naught but it keeps the heart beating. Here's to a whirlwind of worries and more exciting jousts with loved ones. They truly color our world, don't they?

Not in these cases. These are situations where people are going against me and don't care what I want. That's not exciting at all.

@patgalca Oh, that bad, huh. Sorry, I truly am. My prayers then to get you through the difficult and trying times. "May the good Lord make you a channel of peace, where there is hatred, let you bring love, where there is injury, pardon." That is an excerpt from a man called Francis, a man who was beaten and cursed by his own father.

I think the only real way to have a vacation of the mind is to go on an actual vacation.
