This wouldn't really classify as "rock," but it's a song I don't think you'd expect a prim and proper lady born in 1932 to like. But then, you may not think the "regular" countdown song is "rock," either. At any rate, I'm presenting a bonus song on the list of songs my dear, late mother loved....and you probably wouldn't expect her to.
BONUS: Let's Talk Dirty in Hawaiian - John Prine
For years I went out of my way to avoid playing songs like this (and Elton John's "Sweet Painted Lady") around my mother. One day, though, it came on in the car.
Mom listened.
Mom laughed her butt off.
From there, any time we went out this was the first song I played for her when she got into the car.
One of John Prine's classics....not in the sense of his serious songs like "Hello in There" or "Paradise," but more up the alley of "Dear Abby." It's funny, a little crude....and one of my mom's favorites.

From German Afternoons, 1986

You managed to indoctrinate mom to John Prine. Then she demanded tickets to a Don Ho concert?
