Of All the Nerve! This Ever Happen to You?

This happened to me a while back. For some reason, the thought of the experience crossed my mind so I decided to share it with y'all. Because I'm wondering if this has ever happened to you. Several years ago I received an eMail. It was a person inviting me to sign up and become a member of their site. The site is a business community and it was created for the purpose of professional networking. Mainly trying to connect people in business with other people in business who are located in the same neighborhood or city or state. The person who invited me was the owner of the site. I didn't know this lady from Eve! But she was very courteous and polite and I liked the idea of her community. It was like LinkedIn only your network of contacts were “people in your neighborhood”. It was free. So I created the account, linked my social media accounts to my profile, and started growing my network. It's all good. I'm not really that active. But when a member contacts me or asked to connect with me, I courteously respond and answer their questions or add them to my network. This person … I don't know who they are or where they came from … sends me a message and says: “I DON'T BELONG IN THIS COMMUNITY! I AM NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE!” For real. Out of the blue, this rude and angry person ~ who don't know me and I don't know them ~ shows up on my virtual doorstep to try to kick me out of a house that doesn't even belong to them! I'm thinking to myself: Who? … What? … What does this person think? Do they think I just showed up at the site one day, banged on the web-door and demanded YO LADY! U GONNA LET ME IN OR WHAT??!? DON'T MAKE ME HAVE TO BRING MY BOYZ HERE AND KICK THIS DOOR DOWN!! I mean seriously! Of all the nerve!! After my initial confused shock of being approached in that manner and after I stopped laughing, because when I stopped to think about it … it was hilarious! I politely typed out a response to this person which said: * I AM HERE because I WAS INVITED TO BE HERE … BY THE OWNER OF THIS SITE! If you have a problem with that, contact them! That was the end of our interactions. I never heard from the person again. Maybe it was a case of mistaken identity. Maybe the person thought that I was somebody else. I don't know! Has this ever happened to you?
