It's night here.My whole family is fast asleep, but I am wide awake. An hour back I lay on my bed,but sleep remained elusive.
Usually when I fail to fall asleep at night,I get up and read interesting fairy tales.
What about you? What do you do when you fail to sleep at night ?

If I don't sleep within 15 min. I wake up and drink a Valerian Root cap and go to sleep. When I sleep I'd like to sleep so I found this holistic way to fall asleep. Sometimes I have early morning appointments that I need my sleep the night before with, so if I can't sleep I just get me my Valerian Root cap and fall right to sleep within 10 min.

@oahuwriter I drink a glass of water minutes before going to bed.My day begins at 5 a.m.early in the morning. That's the time when I do yoga and take some other physical exercises. To get up so early I need sufficient sleep, but sometimes I can't sleep. This makes me restless. In order to avoid negative thoughts I start reading books.

@oahuwriter I usually have a sound and refreshing sleep, but sometimes struggles of life get the better of my mental peace and I have a sleepless night. When I can't sleep,I don't keep changing sides on my bed restlessly.I get up and read stories, fairy tales or wildlife adventures to avoid negative thoughts.

We do what we do to help us sleep and get a good rest. We got to do what works for us. If it does persist though maybe a doctor's visit or researching online could get some positive solutions too. Hope you always get a good sleep and rest when you want to and need to. I pray too for good rest and sleep when I need and want it.

When I am at home I kiss my wife and after a lot of action, sleep prevail... If I am not at home during week days, I do crazy things and sing "All By Myself"... That's so honestly... Ha ha...

I am unmarried.I have to leave for my office at 9 a.m.So I get up at 5 a.m.,do yoga and take some other physical exercises. In order to get up so early I need enough sleep. If I fail to sleep,I become restless.Negative thoughts swarm into my mind.To avoid it I leave my bed and start reading either a fairytale or a wildlife adventure.

@Sreekala I too don't have any such problem.I get fast asleep within minutes after lying on my bed.But yes, sometimes I fail to sleep and then I don't keep changing sides on my bed. Instead I get up and start reading something interesting. It works.

Well I might read something. Or drink water, walk a bit and chant some mantras.
However the tougher part is to wake up on time in the morning.

@josie I have been a late sleeper for years, but after lying on my bed I hardly take a few seconds to get fast asleep. But sometimes sleep remains elusive. Then I get up and start reading. This helps me divert my mind from my problems.

I mostly like to work at night when all of my sleep, no noise, phone and I can devote 100%
When I lie down, I like to see some interesting clip on the YouTube
