I've just resigned from a small women's service group where I have been secretary for the past year. The president of the group is a friend of mine and, to show her appreciation for the work I've done in supporting her, she made me this lovely carry-bag. This was a much appreciated surprise. The group I've resigned from raises funds for literacy projects in the community and my friend knows that not only do I write and read a lot, but I also support literacy in many ways. So this thoughtful gift is really appropriate. It's first outing will be to Melbourne this coming week. It's already packed with the few writing materials I'm taking with me. I'm sure my unexpected gift will come in handy on many occasions.

I think it will become my library bag, but meanwhile it's immediate use as a writing bag is appropriate too.

Sometimes to leave a group if we are there with other people for a long time. I also like a surprise gift. It is a keepsake for a person close to your heart.
