End of the Season

Well the regular season is over for the Blackhawks, losing there last game of the season. It was not a good year missing the playoffs for the second year in a row. They didn't have a good year although they scored 4th most goals in their division sounds good, that is out of 15 teams the real problem is they gave up the most goals of those 15 teams. They gave up 292 goals on the season for an average of 3.56 goals a game. You just can't allow that many goals and expect to have a good season. Their two big starts, Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews had carrier seasons this year. Kane had 66 assists and 110 points on the season, both career records for him. Toews had 35 goals, 46 assists and 81 points, all career records for him. The problem is even with them doing so well this year, you need a lot more players to step up and help out, that didn't happen. The only other really bright side was 2nd year Alex DeBrincat in his second year had 41 goals, 35 assists and 76 points. The Blackhawks this off season really need to think about defense, they gave up way to many goals. Turnovers in their own zone killed them. They have to aging defenseman in Keith and Seabrook who have lost a lot of speed over the years. They have Erik Gustafsson who had a very good year with 17 goals, 43 assists for 60 points and 115 blocked shotsfrom a 3rd year defenseman. Hopefully they can do some good things in the offseason.
