Time to "shape up" with a trivia series of terrific tunes with an exercise term in the title. Before we begin our song and artist series here is a little introduction of what areas of activity might be in those song titles. Perhaps some clues for the entire series lie in the next paragraph??? As you know there are many ways one can "tune" your body into a fit lean fighting machine, From walking or jogging, to going to the gym for a more intense workout, or even playing a fun activity, they all can achieve the same result... Burning calories, weight loss and a toned up healthy body. So lets start off with a video song where all that runnin' around should really burn off some calories... Hope you enjoy the musical video. And now it's quiz time, Whodunnit? Do you know these songs and artists? 1. This artist is best known for an early 60's hit which hit #1 on the charts. The artist followed this successful recording with another top ten hit called "Hats Off to Larry." In 1964, he produced a demo recording session for a young fellow Michigander named Bob Seger, who would go on to stardom much later. This song is about a guy whose girl leaves him, and he is left to wonder why she went away. Many of the artists songs were about broken relationships. Another artist wrote a song which makes reference to this 60's hit. The line mentions "It being a beautiful day, riding along with the radio on and both of them singing this hit song. 2. It's a shame that the earlier work of this Australian group has been overshadowed by their later disco period recordings. Prior to that disco period, the three brothers recorded more soft rock oriented songs scoring many chart hits in the U.S. and U.K. during the late 60's early 70's. Our exercise trivia tune was a top ten UK charter for the group in 1972. The song's lyrics are about the wishes of a man who longs to be noticed by a broken-hearted girl." Here's some sample lyrics: Someone has hurt you, and torn you apart, Am I unwise to open up your eyes to love me? Over 2,500 artists have recorded their songs. The group is in the Songwriters Hall of Fame in addition to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Trivia Video Bonus: In the video Runaround Sue can you name four instruments being played in Dion's backing band? Double Bonus: The backing band on this #1 hit was not Dion's Belmonts. Instead another group famous for those doo-wop harmonies in the early 60's did the honors on this tune. Do you know the group's name? Fun Fact: Two years after this song was released, Dion married a woman named Sue. Ok, time now to "step up" and answer the trivia quiz! If your stuck and need additional help just let me know in your response. You can "lean on me" if more clues are needed. As always, thanks for reading and responding to my music post !!!! @1hopefulman Not much success on their own, but a great white vocal doo wop group who sang backup with Dion in the early 60's. Here is their most successful song
1962 on Laurie. Dion wanted a more rock n roll sound so he replaced the belmonts with the del-satins. Notice Dion's original wax's are on Laurie records as w...

I recognized the song you chose here, but have no clue to the trivia questions. As with most songs, I know them when I hear them. I don't know the names or the artists.

1. I love Bonnie Raitt’s bluesy cover of that song. Hats off to Del! 2. A ballad with “run” in the title. That’s more my style of hits from them. And among those 2,500 people: Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers’ big hit “Islands in the Stream.”

Bonnie Raitt has covered so many songs so beautifully. I enjoy her cover of John Hiatt's "Thing Called Love." Great slide guitar work on that song and the video with Dennis Quaid is pretty cool too. Yes, that Bee Gees composition fit those Country stars like a "boxing glove."
