Jane Taylor is one thankful dog owner who is thankful that her Pit Bull named Nellie who is five years of age, played the role of heroine recently when Jane was taking her dog for a walk in a Texas state park.
Jane on her way back to her auto encountered a rattlesnake that attempted to attack her for getting into his space when Nellie stepped in and was bitten by the rattlesnake in her face.
After the brief scuffle between Nellie and the rattlesnake was over, a friend of Jane threw a towel over the rattlesnake and shooed him away from Nellie who was seriously injured to the point where she was taken to a local animal hospital to be treated for her snakebites with antivenom and antibiotics which will assist Nellie to recover quickly.
Jane adopted Nellie about six months ago after Nellie had been in several kennels since a group in Texas called Final Frontier Rescue Project took her away from an animal shelter in California when she was one year of age.

Pit Bulls get a bad reputation from the media. At least Nellie can called a heroine.

Stay away from their area where they roam.
