Did you ever believe your toys were alive?

I was just thinking about a movie I love called A Little Princess. As far as I know there have been 2 movies of this. First one ( from what I believe ) was the Shirley Temple one and then there was one from 1995. I remember from the 1995 version, the girl's father told her that her doll came alive but you had to be really quick to catch it moving around. I remember when I was a kid, due to that movie as well as Toy Story, I used to slowly sneak up to my room and look through the crack of the door to see if my toys were moving. No, never saw them move. I was so sad because I wanted to play and speak with them. That was until I saw Child's Play. To which I also saw as a child for some stupid reason. Nowadays if I was to see any toy or doll move, I will probably kick it into some fire. Did you ever believe your toys had a mind of their own?

LOL, I have invisible friends, and a sister I played with so no. But Chucky will make you think twice about buying an ugly doll.

@andriaperry haha I'm glad you had your sister and friends. Even if they were invisible! Did they have names? Oh that creepy doll! *shivers* My brother bought one and it's still in the box. Hopefully it remains in the box!

When I was a very very little girl, I had a doll that moved her arms and legs, I thought she was alive.

@LadyDuck Would have been fun to play with. I have a porcelain doll that my Nanny gave me when I was really young and I used to put her in this pram and act like she was my baby lol I still have her.

I don't remember but I probably did. I just watched The Little Princess with Shirley Temple. It's my favorite movie of hers.

@VivaLaDani13 It was easier to watch her when I was growing up. She was always on tv on the weekends. Her movies and tarzan movies...lol.

@simone10 aw lovely! I adore Shirley Temple movies. First movie I ever saw of hers was Heidi. Loved it and was addicted to watching more movies of hers. It's hard to find them so I haven't been about to watch them all yet.

@simone10 I have never seen Tarzan before! Not even the Disney movie. I would really love to see them. Some movies are just so hard to find for me. I love a lot of movies, music and TV shows from way before I was born but not all are easy to find.

Well, yeah! My bear, Teddy, was totally alive! Seriously, though, I believed it until I was old enough to be embarrassed. And looking back I know it was a dream, but I once believed I saw Teddy climb out of our garbage can and walk back up to our house. That was after my step-dad threatened to throw him away if I didn't clean my room.

@Genipher I'm sorry he threatened to do that. That's actually something I don't believe in with children. Threatening to throw away something a child adores is a bit too harsh I think.

@Genipher I am so sorry about the house fire! For taking away Teddy and anything else that was burned. That is horrible! I'm so glad that everyone else were safe that is good. But sorry for anything else lost and damaged. Do you know what caused the fire?

@VivaLaDani13 Yeah, it was pretty awful. Though I didn't realize it was a mean thing to do when I was little. As an adult, now, I can't fathom why he would make that threat. Anyway, Teddy stayed with me until my first child was born. We had a house fire around that time and everyone survived except Teddy. RIP.
