Amazing how time flies. Tomorrow April 23 would have been my dad’s birthday. His 114th birthday. He was born in 1905 in Ranka in the countryside of Latvia. In his afterlife, he has had two resting places. One was his urn at Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York and finally when mom and I went to Latvia in 1994 he was reburied in his homeland in Ranka where he was born and not too far away from his home Now he and my mom have been joined in eternity and are together not only up above but also in one resting place. Photo of my mom and dad shortly after they were married in the DP Camp in Augustdorf Germany.

It's nice that they are now in the same spot in the home country.

Remembering is good for the heart and the soul., It's what makes us happy, the memories of loved ones who as much defined our lives and our characters. Wonderful musing, dear virtual friend,

@RasmaSandra That is a great shame. Wars are so devastating.

@JohnRoberts my parents separately escaped from their homeland Latvia and met again in the DP Camps in Germany. They were married in Augustdorf, Germany and then traveled to NYC in 1951.

A very attractive couple. My father was also born in 1905 but his birthday is in November so he would only be 113 right now.
