Wake up I say ! He said it several times already

So yes so far today my machine in here has not been so loud as I could hear Mr. Rooster who obviously is still making his self heard several times a day. 
I have been down with terrible sweats for quite a few days now and on the pot a lot. Nurse and doctor just keeps saying all my stats look fine so just keep hydrated. 
So sick of Gatorade . anyway, wake up sweating all over like I been dumped in a pool at least twice a night and now a few times a day. I just keep hoping Its just a bug that will soon stop.
Doesn't help that this house is so old with I think original everything been here since 1966 when it was built 
I can't understand how or why they keep renting out these places without ever bothering to fix or renew anything but the amount they ask for rent.
Thermostat is one of those old time ones you have to manually adjust according to change in weather. Worse then where we moved from . Then the stove is built into the counter top and oven over top in the wall? crazy ! and it needs new burners. 2 the knobs no longer work and 2 the burners need replaced and hard to find that kind any more. and even if we did daughter says 50 bucks approximately to buy even one. . then we are not electricians so that would mean someone to put it in likely having to pay. Having to live in dumps like this is really keeping us broke . Never say things can not get worse because they can. I thought the old place was bad. 
Anyway, nice to know rooster is fine. Chickens are quite cute, funny and useful animals in so many ways. and their rooster /man keeps them happy so I have heard. Although I kind of think most roosters look a bit evil or mean but that is probably just me.

I am surprised that they rented the house in such bad condition. I hope you are not paying too much.

me too and the only reason it's not still empty is because we could find nothing else spare of the moment. I realized too late I should have told daughter we would take that apartment which was bigger but 100 dollars more .
still seems to me there should be some law that sets some standards or he should have offered to replace a few things after

@BelleStarr yes a year. I don't want to get our realtor in trouble as she is a friend and got us here because of our emergency. It was the only place she had listed left and you can see why. I guess it's been empty for a while.

@bunnybon7 Do you have a lease, are you stuck here for a year? You might just want to call the housing authority and have them take a good look at the conditions you have to live under.

@bunnybon7 The authorities check the houses that are to be rented, everything must work, or you must fix before renting.

Oh gosh, hope you feel better. I don't blame you for getting sick of Gatorade. Been wondering how things were after your move - oh my that stove should be replaced! How fun that a rooster and chickens are about . . . are they near you or are they actually on the property? You take care . . . no worries about posting but I'm glad we heard from you today.

@bunnybon7 One would think the rent would and should include everything working properly no matter how old it is . . . and even if it wasn't when you move in, that they would and should fix it knowing that it needs to be.

Surely if the landlord is renting out such a place it is his responsibility to ensure it is fit for purpose. Do you not have housing laws in the USA? Hope you start to feel better soon!

we have laws but most seem to favor the landlord or owners interests. also seems they have so much red tape for getting things done that you end up out of time and money that you don't have for getting things checked out. long story.
Here the only thing good with the law is if you are buying a place. If someone is selling a home they HAVE to have everything tip top and certain standards need met before it can be put up for sale.
guess that is why some just rent out their houses because nothing much has to be met to prove they are livable.

At least the rooster is outside. Lily is always trying to get me up at weird hours. This morning she was scratching my arm to get me up. I had a stomach bug last week and was sick of drinking coke and flavored water. I had an old thermostat too until my air conditioner unit broke. I now have a digital modern one. I leave it on auto now.
