It's Finally Warm Enough, After Tonight's Snow, to Get Some Window Work Done, Maybe

With my job I get five weeks of vacation since I've been there twenty-one year. Actually, I qualified for the five weeks after about half that time. For the past few years our store director has been having us pick out three full weeks we want to take off. The only thing is we need to decide in January or thereabouts. Unless we have a trip planned far in advance, it's rare for me to know ahead of time when I want to take off, but this being a surgery year things are different.
My knee surgery is set for June 5th at present, so I requested the beginning of May off so we could get a good start on our window customers in preparation for not working much in June. That vacation begins tomorrow.
I had hoped to keep my employees busy for six to eight hours per day, but after last week and my being extra tired after working, I've changed my mind and am hoping for five to six hours per day instead. That doesn't mean that I need to actually do any of the work, but it does mean me going around and making sure the rest of them know what they are doing.
I have a lot of work ahead of me tomorrow after church because I have yet to schedule much of the week ahead. The fun part will be figuring out whether it will rain at all on any of the days and then working people in when they are free. I expect it will also entail me doing a lot of driving around which is also quite tiring especially when we can do several jobs in a day's time.
I also need to call all the people we typically do in June and see if they would like us to come later in May instead. I have over twenty people that have called to be fit in this spring/summer, but many don't want them done just yet, unfortunately. And, some may not get them done before my surgery if they aren't free when I am free.
I was hoping that by now the weather would be staying steady, but it's still all over the board. It goes up and down twenty degrees every day or few days and tonight a bit of snow may show up, or it may not come this far north. For those that do see any snow at least it shouldn't last.
The picture is of my Christmas Cactus when it bloomed at Christmas this year. It started again before Easter but already seems to be done. I need to remember to water it more often so one of these years I can get the whole plant to bloom rather than only in one or two spots.

It's supposed to rain just about every day. Not conductive to getting work done at all. I will still try, though, as the rain may just be a myth and not affect us much, but that remains to be seen.

@just4him We made over two hundred dollars thus far this week which isn't too shabby. I only owe my employees around 35.00 for each of the three from the week before, so I'm set there. Today, it's raining all day long and tomorrow and Friday we should get more work in and I'm considering doing something Saturday as well since I've had the week off, but we'll see.

@MarshaMusselman So far, we're having exactly what they predicted. I hope you can get some windows washed.

@LadyDuck The nicer it is outside the more people tend to be out and about that's for sure. That holiday may be similar to our Labor Day when many places are closed so people can have a long weekend.

We had temps in the sixties a few times in the last few weeks, but if we get any of that warmer weather this week we'll be lucky. The rain is making it seem even colder than it really is.

It almost seems like my cactus may have bloomed three times since Halloween, but I'll have to check back at what I wrote about it to know for sure as I surely don't remember.
I don't have too many jobs lined up for this coming week just yet and hope to find people at home this afternoon to get more in. Sunday's isn't always a good day to connect with people as they may be visiting, but it will have to do .

@DianneN If I get bored maybe I'll go and search out whether it bloomed this year in November or not. Possibly not, but it's hard to remember when the last time was once it begins again.
I have the whole day off today as it's raining although it's quite out there right now. We'll see how I do getting some work done around here and maybe a bit of exercising in at Planet Fitness. I thought I'd be going every other day since my friend isn't in town this week, and I've not gone there yet.

It's called a Christmas cactus here in the states although there are other least types that have other names. I believe it came from a tropical area and here we grow them inside other, warmer climates might grow them outside.
Where do you live? And pleased to meet you.

All I ever get with my cactus is a few blooms and if I'm lucky five to ten, but lately it's been more like what is in the photo. Do you forget to water yours as well? I go months without watering but for whatever reason at the right times it tends to begin blooming a little even without weekly watering. Once I see new blooms or new buds I try to water it more often, meaning at least weekly, but haven't figured out how to build that habit just yet.

@MarshaMusselman It is hard for me to judge how much to water. I have been told that when it starts to bloom you need to water it more.

@HazySue I intend to do just that, I don't always follow through with my intent though.
When my mom was in the senior housing and I would visit her on thursdays, I always watered her plants when I was there and then I got in the better habit of doing the same once returned home again. But, once we moved he to her current location and I didn't have to water her plants any longer, I completely forgot to continue with my own.
Right now I only have the Christmas cactus to worry about and even forget that one most times.

Someone else thought the same thing last year. We sell dragon fruit at my store and they are much larger than the flower on my Christmas cactus.
