So a question about keys

How many copies of a key, is too many? We have 6 different sets of door keys even though we only have 4 people living in the house, and you can get in the door via a keyboard and don't need a key. Is 6 keys too many?

As we have to "order" the keys with the lock (impossible to have cheap copies), we ordered three sets of key. We are only two, so it's one for each and one in a safe place.

@DocAndersen I like a traditional key, I do not trust the electronic gadget. We have a solid door with a good serious lock.

@LadyDuck I got an electronic lock because I can let people in remotely and also give specific people (maids, family) their own codes.

I think so. I only have two copies of house keys.

If that is how many you want, then its perfect. I have the 2 that came with the new lock.

it cost me 400 bucks (almost) to have a locksmith open it. 40 bucks to have 6 copies.

My father still keeps a bunch of several duplicate and redundant keys in the key chain. I think 2 is enough.
