One proud moment for this mother and believer in the youth - a happy occasion, a gathering of millennials under the age of 30 - the book launching of Youngblood 7 - a collection of essays from the Philippine Daily Inquirer section called Youngblood. The Chairman of the Board gave the inspirational talk. He was impressed with the young minds and encouraged the youth to keep writing. He was there also to see the future leaders of the land. My daughter has two essays in the book, from out of the 300 essays submitted per week, 32,000 for the annual count. She was also asked to read a part of her essay. Please try to buy a copy and read the thoughts and ideas of our youth. Congratulations, anak, on your first book launching, Proud of you.

My daughter has brought home a variety of chest congesting emotions, her viewpoints and stances on politics, the environment, the disasters, her bosses, colonialism can cause cardiac arrest. She goes toe to toe even with government officials and legislators. She even takes on the leadership of the land on national paper. I stay quiet listening and praying. Said it's my fault for I taught her to fight for truth and justice, and to champion the oppressed and the poor/ As of this writing, she's at a rally against China. Thank you. I am very proud of my daughter, and her sister, too.

@arunima25 I couldn't say thanks enough to you, Arunima Singh, you've been so supportive. Mothers do tend to worry sometimes, even if there is no reason to. Yesterday, my daughter was with the activists rallying to shoo China away. Today, she is helping with volunteer work at downtown Manila, the capital city.
Blamed for traffic, sanitation, and safety issues, street vendors tend to get a bad rap. But what about the positives, like vibrant street life and local economic development ? Is there a way to...
