Our big boy

You guys might remember that back in September I adopted a 3 month old kitten, Boris. He was really handsome, and pretty big even then. Not out of size big, just a good sized kitten.
Well, yesterday afternoon he got into the wife's room.
We try to keep the brats, I mean cats, out of there, but we do feed a couple canned food in there because we can't feed them the food where the other cats can "help."
Needless to say, there are some... opportunists... that are always trying to get in, including Boris.
Because the wife is on peritoneal dialysis, she has to be weighed twice a day, every day. This is one of the checks to make sure she doesn't get too overloaded with fluid or too dry. And, because she can't really see her feet, much less the numbers on a scale, she bought a talking scale.
All these electronic scales are kind of fussy about how much weight it takes to get them started. I can promise you that 6.6 pounds (the weight of Nef and Opal) wasn't enough to started it, but because it was awake, it told us their weights.
So, Boris got into her room and, after checking that there wasn't any food left in the dish we feed Nef and Daisy in, sat on the scale.
He weighed enough, at 11 months, to set it off.
The "little" darling weighs 11.6 pounds! That's just over 5 kilograms for you metric people!
He's our big boy! He's taller at the hips than our big Booboo. Boo still has some height else where, and about 4 pounds (2 k) on him. He's the same size as our Sparky, who - sweet boy that he is - just ignores him when Boris tries to jump him.
What do you think of our boy? He'll be a year end of May.

Boris must have been scared to set the scale 'talking'.

Apparently not, but he's pretty much not afraid of anything right now. Well, maybe Prissy, he might be afraid of Prissy. Last night he came bounding over to jump on the grey cat, realized it was Prissy and stopped, then bounded off in some other direction.

@marguicha he is a good looking boy, sweet too, except when he bite ya - but we should know better than to offer him food with our hands...

@rebelann We don't bother with beds because we have a couple that will pee in anything they think might pass for a litter box. You know - cardboard boxes, bowls, plates (they can only get to dirty ones) and anything else, like a pet bed.

Such a tall and lanky little fellow, isn't he?
Cats are such mischevious little creatures!

He is. You know how teenage boys are all kind of awkward with arms and legs sometimes seeming to go all different directions? Well, Boris does some of that.
You know how kittens will get to playing with their back and tail arched? I've seen Boris just walking around the kitchen with either the tail or both the back and the tail arched up, looking for trouble.

@ScribbledAdNauseum He is. I'm down to 15 cats now, I have 2 elderly cats and one with cancer. The good news is that its been over 8 months since I lost my last cat.

@ElicBxn He seems to be quite the character and the source of endless entertainment. I've not cats here, and haven't had any in years. The closest I get are the neighbors kitties, or whenever I go to visit with friends.

What a precious boy @ElicBxn . He looks just like my Bubba Red who passed away over a year ago. I love the look on Boris' face, "You want me to do what?"

@nanette64 I picked up female stray. She ended up having to go to the vet for an emergency C-section/spay. She was crazy, but I kept the kitten, I miss Solo.

@BarBaraPrz and hers is on those little toothpick legs, the wife's - the one he's sitting in front of, has a better stand.

He is! And, honestly, he's not quite done growing yet. He might get a little taller/longer, and he will fill out. Most cats don't really finish until they are two. No Opal, she's so tiny - had to tell our computer geek friend that Opal will be 2 in July. She's only half Boris' size (and makes about 10 the noise.)
