So this kiddo is my world! No he’s not mine, but I babysit him at least once a week. He’s smart, funny, and loving. He also has some minor special needs - including a temper that can rival anyone’s! He got mad at me on Friday and screamed, hit, cursed me out, and even tried to kick me in the head. All over my saying no to a dollar store trip.
In reality - he was very anxious over a camping trip with his respite group that he was going on the next day. He’s only 8, so instead of being able to really express what he’s feeling, there is a meltdown. It all ended up okay though. We took a walk so he could calm down and happened upon a sushi restaurant. We stopped for dinner and he ga e me his first sushi roll as an apology. He also tried octopus and really liked it.
His mom just told me he had a great trip. I can’t wait for him to tell me all the details about hen I see him!

Behavior is communication. It takes the place of words we cannot say. He is lucky to have you in his life. Every kid needs as many caring grown ups in their team as possible.

Yes! Apparently his behavior issues started when he was around 3 - right at the time when he understood he was adopted and different than his siblings (his parents and older siblings are white).
