You Don't Work For Your Employer.

The old story goes that a person works their whole life then at the end wonders what they worked for. An employer that replaced them? A paycheck that was spent as soon as it hits the bank? Yes, it is true our employers compensate us for our time and skills. Yes, it is true most of us sell our time and skills for pay and benefits. However, none of those things are what we work for. The money we earn gets used. We pay for a place to live, food to eat, entertainment, hobbies...etc. We spend the money on ourselves, our families, and others we support and choose to spend it on. In other words, we don't work for our employers or for money. We work for what we spend our money on. Keep that in mind and you will not live a life you will consider a waste.

I hear you. I am constantly busy writing online to keep the cash coming in so that I can get what I need and not feel that I am not being rewarded for what I do. When I order something I have really wanted online I always think to myself do it to make yourself happy and glad you earned the money to get it.

I have come to a point in my life where my money finally makes all the money I need. That doesn't mean I don't still pursue more. But it has changed a lot about my life and the way things go.

A very good and valid point. I only think you missed one other very important detail, and that is that we not only work for what we spend on our money on TODAY. We work for what we will need to spend our money on in the FUTURE. You have to live and enjoy, but it is also very important to save and invest so that you can enjoy the days you are not working to the fullest.
