Thomas Edison was an inventor and businessman who was born Ohio in 1847 and died of diabetes complications in 1931. In his life he invented such things as the light bulb, phonograph, Morse code and the motion picture camera. He had 1,093 US patents as well as ones in other countries. He actually had taught Mina Morse code so they could communicate between themselves. When he decided to propose to his second wife he"Will you marry me?" To which she replied, "Yes!" They were married on February 24, 1886.

Wow! When I proposed to my wife (we were 21 years old), I did not use the morse. I did not even propose by saying "will you marry me!" . . After watching a movie, I proposed - - "Hey, Let's elope!" And, no kidding, we did! And every year we don't celebrate the day when we wed . . we celebrate that day when we eloped.

He was an amazing inventor, his lab is now at Deerfield Village in Michigan. I guess he was a romantic guy!!

That's very interesting. Though I always thought Samuel Morse was the one who invented Morse Code.
