Another Surprise

While out yesterday watching the robin nest, which has another baby in it. I saw the little head. I also discovered a blackbird nest. I managed to sneak out and capture a photo of a baby that had just fledged the nest.
He was up against my fence, but still in the yard. There were four blackbirds around him before I slowly walked out to get a photo. I guess the babies have more than one set of parents. They all flew up into the trees. But when I snapped the photo and walked away, they returned to feed and hopefully take care of this baby.
For a minute I felt like I was in the movie, The Birds! I thought, you know they could attack me right here in my yard. So I went back inside, at a fast pace.
I have never had baby blackbirds in my yard. It seems all the birds are enjoying the trees and choosing to raise their families here. Iti s very exciting to watch and learn.
Any bird nests in your yard? Are you interested about nature at all?

Oh my God Carol, I am so happy that the birds find your backyard as a safe place to be with their babies. I am not sure if there any nest nearby my house, I haven't found out. But I guess there is one around that I am not aware of. Thanks for sharing that lovely photo of the bird with us!

I may have a nest in my big tree. I hear a lot of birds hanging out there, but the greenery is so thick I can't see what's there.

I have a lot of birds and I see nests but they are high up, I am actually waiting for the baby season to be over so I can cut down more trees.
I seen a blue bird fly into the deep brush yesterday down by the road. Its so small and bright colored. I thought about you.

You should watch some of the online bird cams. Here is a red tail hawk video that is so cool. You can also watch it live online.
Enjoy a view of the two Red-tailed Hawk chicks in the nest as the third egg begins to hatch. At the end of the clip, Big Red brings in a rabbit and places it...

What precious time you've had!
Blackbirds in my garden are quite voracious diggers. They uproot plants that I prefer that they stay in the ground-- upright and alive :-). But black birds, among others, add to the natural balance to the beauty in nature, don't they?
Nature is life to me. :-)
