I started submitting some of my photos to Shutterstock the end of last year and so far to date I have had 9 sales. the two this week were of a moon in the clouds and a wood duck.

Congrats to you. I started using Foap a little bit but haven't sold a picture yet. Not sure it can be lucrative at all, but so long as all I have to do is snap interesting pictures and upload them and sit back and wait, no harm no foul if I never sell a single one.

exactly, if you are having fun and getting enjoyment out of the process of the picture taking.. then it is worth it. but making a few extra bucks now and then doesn't hurt either.. :)

@minx267 Making a few extra bucks now and then is awesome. It's especially nice when it comes from things that are essentially little work and fun.

Congrats! Is that the photo you sold? It's a very nice and sharp photo of a pretty duck. Wish we had some more interesting ducks here.

@Torunn well I tried with my other camera.. but until I got this new one. I was never able to zoom in close enough to capture the bird.. patience wasn't my choice.. I just kept trying.. persistence was the key.

@Janet357 yes, most wild ducks are. they only let you get so close and then they will either swim away or fly away.

Yes, the prices very depending on what the person purchases them for. I have so far earned .25 cents eight times and one sale was for $19.80. I have earned money thru other photo purchases on a site called EyeEm also. but Shutterstock is giving me more sales.. and I hope to keep adding more photos and there fore increasing the chance to earn more.

Thank you.. I have been trying for 2 years to get a good photo of these wood ducks and I finally succeeded - it helped that the bird was only about 50 feet away, and my zoom can handle much farther. So I was able to get a few really good shots.
