Dog Became Wild

Our pet dog, Oreo, became hostile so we could not groom him. He is at the picture looking like a dirty rag.
Even when the vet administer injections, he had to be choked with a chain because he tends to bite whoever is around, even my husband, whom
he regards as master.
I suggested that he be dazed so he can be groomed.
What do you think?

We pity him; my husband is trying to bathe him every three days to keep him cool; but he has matted fur, we could not comb him either because he bites us. We do not want to surrender him to the dog pound because he will die there.

@ihasaquestion yes, it is; we love him so much so we would want to have him groomed of that matted furs; and wait till his old age when he bid us goodbye. We just do not touch him like when he was a puppy.

poor pup, he's most likely a good reason fer the 'ggression. those mat's 're most uncomfy to tend. perhaps y'all might try a conditioner? gonna take time 'n patience to train 'im to enjoy groomin' sessions. sadly these sorta pups require great care daily with their coats.
i could ne'er choke a critter with a chain myself. if'n bitin' 'tis'n issue, perhaps a muzzle'd be'n order?

The vet could not even put a muzzle on him; he is so strong and wild. I pity him when he is being choked for a while.

He is feeling so hot because it is dry season, and his fur is so thick, so he is lying by his back.

He was sweet when he was still young; but when a helper at the pet shop accidentally cut his claw so that it hit the flesh, he became hostile.

@acelawrites Yes, matted fur can be awful and even painful if it pulls the skin. Poor little cute baby.

Maybe, because so many factors for it; he was not spayed and has no partner; and because of that Vet. assistant who cut his claw too close to the flesh it made him afraid being groomed.

My husband bathes him; but could not touch him while bathing; he uses a brush with long handle to shampoo him.
