I've been to a lot of national parks all around the world. That said, there are some local parks near where I live that are amazing.
(India has national parks that are amazing, as does Thailand and many other nations around the world).
It is all about closeness and what you are looking for!
So, when it comes to a park what are you looking for?

Usually something of a historical significance or exceptional beauty.

I like a park that has many trees and has a track with beautiful scenery

I love the beauty. We have great state parks here, and the Smokies are nearby. I went to Big South Fork National Recreation Area a couple of weeks ago. It’s fun to “get away,” too, but as long as it’s beautiful!!!

I agree! the beauty is critical! We used to love to go to the Falls of Indiana.

Being raised in NYC I loved Central Park and all that went on there but my favorite park of all time is the main park in Vancouver--Stanley Park--absolutely breathtaking!

History (even though I hate hearing about that crap) and beauty, what they have to offer for entertainment helps. Plenty of bathrooms!
Th last local, in Alabama, was Moundsville.
