Changing the Passion, is it common among children

My younger son, which turned 12 years old, last month, had a passion on football. He was in the school team and played for school till 5th standard (Junior team). Last year (in 6th class) his class teacher was strict and did not allow any child to participate in sports. So he was out for one year. This year he is in 7th and he joined with cricket team instead of football. I asked why he changed, he said I got selected in cricket team and foot ball team simultaneously, but the cricket coach in school avoided me as I was in football team. He said I am doing well in cricket than foot ball so I decided to change to cricket team. Day before yesterday bought his cricket bat and he is doing practice at home, hanging a ball on door and hitting on it. He is playing outside in morning with local children. I know he is too small so changing his interest on hobbies. What do you think? Image his new bat

I think we all do that... In growing years we are exploring. That's the fun, we can do anything and be on our own. Only with the passage of time we can decide what remains with us forever

So I don't want to worry and let him do whatever he wants, isn't it?

If he's happy with his choice, that's great!! My son right now is 11 and passionate about martial arts. He self teaches and he's amazing with the bo staff-I am so proud of him!! =)

I think you should let him do what he wants. My son changed his mind often until he found what he really liked to do. I think trying different things is good for kids. It helps with self -awareness and learning what you are good at and what you are not good at. We all should try new and different things. You may discover you are good at something.

Thank you so much for this idea dear. I will definitely let him do what he wants. He is too young so he can test and find out what is good for him.
