I'm fleeing to the mountains... for a few hours.

Today it's supposed to get up to 90 degrees here. I am not looking forward to that, but then I don't have to deal with it. I am heading up to the mountains again and am going to really enjoy the cooler temperatures there. What is everyone else up to on this Saturday?

I hope the rain will subside for you soon. We ended up spending the night in the mountains and coming home the next day.

@LadyDuck When does the meteorologist say there will be some relief from the rain?

I am waiting for someone to show up who is supposed to be buying my Kitchen Aid mixer. I hope he shows up. You can never be too sure about some of these people.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I sold it from Let Go. Selling this wasn't much of a pain..but I went through a ton of grief when I was selling my kayak. I never dealt with such an irresponsible group of people in my life..

@snowy22315 I've not heard anything bad about LetGo, atleast not before this. I had a friend who sold her van with LetGo. I don't remember her telling me much about it beyond that. She went to a scrapyard type place to get some things for the van.

I've seen / heard about some of the stories with trying to sell from facebook marketplace etc. I actually have two kitchen aid mixers, sort of. My grandmother had one and we have it here, and my mom had one but my dad has it. Actually, he may not anymore, I don't know. It's technically mine though.

Saturday was ok. I did another row on my latch hook rug. I listened to the fourth book of Harry Potter. Although another audiobook came available and I had to listen to the first part again on Sunday.

What's the image going to be when you are done with the rug? My mom and sister used to do those all the time. I never have tried.

@JESSY3236 Oh that sounds like it will be lovely. I love Autumn scenes anyway, but there's something about a church being in it that makes it seem homely.

@ScribbledAdNauseum It's a Autumn scene. It has a church and houses in it.

Yes, within 45 minutes of me. These will be two hours away though, and where my family comes from.

@Aansh13 I think you may have read "fleeing" as "flying". We will be driving up there. Heading just means "going towards"

Wow, it's gotten really warm out your way! That's the way it should be here by middle of May - but we are in the low 70s lately. Weird. But at least it seems sunny-ish for today. Enjoy the coolness of the mountains! Not sure what we will do today . . . for this morning anyway I'm making a blackberry crumble!

@ScribbledAdNauseum I'm sure we'll get the hot stuff soon enough - that part never fails . The forecast says we will still be this way to June - weird! How were the mountains? The blackberry crumble was devoured for breakfast - all gone!!

@much2say They were beautiful and temps were nicer. Ah, that does sound like it would make a good breakfast treat for sure. I've been posting some of the photos on my discussions. I'll probably keep doing that, I took more photos this trip.

It was in the 80's and 90's back home. We did reach about the 80's in the mountains, but it wasn't as bad. We got on the parkway back home and ended up being so high up that it was only 50 degrees!

It was also cooler than it was at my house. I live in the foothills, about 45 minutes to two hours from any mountain. We traveled three hours to the mountains. Ended up spending the night.

@CarolDM Such a relaxing and beautiful place. We were on the stretch leading from Belvard ( I am horrible with place names) to Asheville. A lot of the signs were just gone!
