I’ll Just Hide Out Here

So my mom came home to find I’d been home by myself for over an hour. Ohhh was she mad! I’ll be paying for it for a few days for sure but I really don’t care. Can you believe I didn’t even burn the house down or let thugs rob it?!?!? My mom is so neurotic that I just laugh anymore. I’m currently hiding out in the bathroom until she settles down and gets past plotting murder. Hiding out here means peace and quiet because if she tries to yell through the door I just turn the tub faucet on to block her out. So I currently have King Cake scented incense burning and am in a nice hot bath. Yep you read correctly - I’m writing from the tub. iPhones so come in handy at times like these. I’ll just pretend I’m a seal and hang out here until further notice. Anyone care to toss some sushi this way?

Can something be done about your mother's moods?

I wish. She refuses to take any medication or seek any help because, of course, I am the problem

You were home alone? Any chance your 10, cause that would explain her being upset about it. Other wise maybe mom need so sort of help.

I’m 34! My mom is um...special. The kind of special that needs a padded room. She’s super controlling and believes I can’t have exist for a moment without her supervision and constant instruction on living. I spend A LOT of time out of the house.

@Bensen32 She’s paranoid and has OCD. Unfortunately I’m the object of her obsession. She was furious on Friday night that I would not give her the address of the house I was babysitting at. She feels she is entitled to know my schedule each day and where I am at every moment....um no.

@Lolaze LOL, she's a bit over protective it sounds. Well that must be interesting at 34.

She just wants to make sure you are safe. She needs to be weaned off slowly.

Oh there is no weaning. If I don’t do exactly as she wants when she wants, the screaming and horrible insults begin.

After I read your post I checked on your profile to see your age. It seems that your mother thinks that you are still 16. Something is wrong the, dear.

@marguicha The ‘truth’ to my mom is whatever she wants to believe. She’s slapped me across the face before and when I go “What did you slap me for?!?!?” She’s looked at me and denied slapping me.

I wish it was about caring. It’s about micromanaging and controlling my every move.

@ShifaLk I am gone as often as I can be. I am disabled so I cannot work full time currently. As soon as I can, I’m moving 13 hours away

@Lolaze I think you can do some job so that you are away and she will understand that you are independent now
